IMX 2023 – Imaginary in Motion
ACM의 International Conference on Interactive Media Experiences (IMX)학회가 2023년 프랑트 서부 낭트(Nantes)에서 개최됩니다. IMX는 미국 컴퓨터학회(ACM)의 SIG 분과회 주최로 세계 최대 온라인 방송기술 및 TV 사용자경험(UX) 디자인 관련 국제학회이며, 2003년 부터 ACM TVX로 진행되다가 IMX로 학회명이 변경되어 개최되었습니다.
IMX2023에서 “CareIMX : Future Immersive Healthcare Experience in Medical and Home Settings”의 주제로 워크숍이 열릴 예정입니다. 메타버스, 디지털트윈, 공간컴퓨팅 등의 기술로 인해 최근 Immersive media environment에 대한 관심이 매우 높아지면서 기술의 성숙과 더불어 이와 관련된 사용자 경험이 어떻게 변화할 것인지 워크숍을 통해 전 세계 연구자들과 함께 심도있게 이야기 나누고자 합니다. 본 세션은 한양대학교 기술경영전문대학원 Imagine Lab의 한지은 교수, 권규현 교수 (HCI학회 운영이사), 프랑스 낭트 대학의 LS2N 연구실 Yannick Prei 교수, Mohamed Zied Kefi, Roman Malo 연구팀이 공동으로 운영하여 진행됩니다.

The ACM International Conference on Interactive Media Experiences (IMX) is the leading international conference for presentation and discussion of research into interactive media experiences. It brings together researchers and practitioners from a wide range of disciplines, from human-computer interaction, multimedia engineering and design, to media studies, media psychology and sociology.
IMX 2023 will be held in Nantes, West of France, from June 12 to 15, 2023. The theme of the conference is Imaginary in Motion. In fact, the city of Nantes has been a landmark in French artistic and creative life for several decades. Its cultural ambition can be summed up in one simple aphorism: conceiving reality out of the imaginary.
Nantes’ imaginary peregrinations are perhaps best embodied in the person of Jules Verne, father of science-fiction, whose vision and inspiration deeply influenced the city. From “Les Machines de l’île”, an artistic project displaying several large-size automata, to “La Cité des Imaginaires”, a large architectural centre celebrating imagination, Nantes offers a large choice of cultural landmarks at every meander of the “green line”, a path in the city joining its most singular elements.

The rising accessibility of immersive media technologies opens the opportunity to use them easily in in-hospital and home environments for healthcare. The possibility to completely immerse users or patients in virtual environments, or to augment their surroundings, while tracking their movements and physiological reactions, provide new ways to induce or analyze user experiences. In the healthcare context, immersive media give new opportunities for diagnosis through the study of patient behaviors in controlled environments, as well as rehabilitation, by enabling patients to train in specific and personalized controlled tasks. In an at-home context, immersive media give opportunities to monitor and train mental and physical skills in order to improve users’ health and/or well-being.
Care IMX is a half-day workshop of the IMX 2023 Conference, bringing together interdisciplinary medical, technological and social science researchers.
